What we’re looking for
We are at a pivotal moment in our company’s trajectory as we push towards becoming a publicly-listed company. During this process, we are working on a number of special projects and presentations, as well as preparations of financial models to convince investors of our prospects as a publicly listed company.
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work with our CFO and act as a force multiplier. You will be working side by side with the CFO and his leadership team on a daily basis, reviewing financial reporting and management reporting on a monthly basis, and collecting and pre-screening financial documentation. Wherever necessary, you will challenge data or collect additional information to dive deeper into AUTODOCs financial performance. Additionally, you will orchestrate meetings that drive strategic change in the wider finance function, and support on all projects that can positively affect the outcomes of the company. In doing so, you will build a 360° view of the finance function and be in a position to leverage this to become a future leader within AUTODOC.
As such, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of delivering special projects within finance, coming from a background in Investment Banking, Equity Research or the Corporate Finance arm of Strategy consultants. You will have strong financial literacy, and an understanding of the Technology space that you can bring to the table on day 1, enabling you to rapidly get up to speed with the ins and outs of AUTODOC’s operations. Lastly, we are looking for this person to be permanently based in Berlin, so as to be close to the financial heart of AUTODOC’s business functions.
As Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for:
Being a sparring partner for the CFO, joining all relevant meetings to work with him on strategic projects.
Leading, overseeing and collaborating on various finance related projects (e.g. M&A, capital markets etc.) and non-financial topics (e.g. org structure, team workshops) within the CFO’s organization.
Developing project plans, set milestones, allocate resources, and ensure timely execution and delivery.
Working closely with the entire organization, ensuring KPIs & corporate key initiatives are tracked. Collecting relevant data from different departments and collaborating cross-functionally to draw conclusions and give data driven recommendations.
Preparing materials for quarterly board meetings, investor presentations, and other external communications. Ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all communications.
Serving as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, supervisory board members, banks and other partners.
Driving operational excellence within the CFO's office and across the finance organization. Streamlining processes, implementing best practices, tracking internal KPIs and optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Providing support and guidance to members of the CFO's team.
Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will have a background consisting of:
Master or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Proven experience in at least one of the following: top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or private equity, fast growth startup, business operations role in tech
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of the organization.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.
Fluency in English; Fluency in German is a plus
